Long lasting make up

It's 2pm, you are on your lunch break and you off to meet your friends which you haven't seen for a long time, you want to make a good impression on them so before leaving you have a last quick look in the mirror to make sure that you look flawless and then you see your foundation gone from your chin and your shiny nose, dark patches on the forehead and concealer settled in the fine lines under your eyes.

I'm pretty sure that this kind of scenario has happened to every person that wears make up at least once in their life. The fist think that probably comes to your mind (right after having a mini heart attack) is that you need to get that long lasting 25hour wear foundation that you saw an advert of on tv. You couldn't be more wrong.
Here are my 5 top tips to make even the crapiest foundation last all day.

1. Like for like. By this I mean that you should use silicon based products with silicon base products, water based with water based an so on, no mix and match. If your foundation is silicon based(to check if it's silicon based look at the ingredients list and look for dimethicone) then you want to use a silicon base primer to go under your foundation.

2. Primer is a must if you want your make up to last all day. There are all sorts of different primers out the this days, from smoothing to colour correcting. My three favourite primers of all times are; Mac Prep+Prime, Loreal Studio Secrets and that's not really a primer but works amazing as a primer, Lanacame Anti Chafing Gel.

3. When choosing your foundation make sure that it doesn't oxidises on your skin, specially if you have an oily skin.

4. Setting/Finishing powder is a must. This will set your foundation an make it last much longer, but also will give you a smooth surface to apply your blush/bronzer/highlighter, but remember if you are using cream, gel, liquid or mousse blush/bronzer/highlighter apply them before the setting powder. Ideally setting powder should be transparent or translucent because you don't want to be adding more coverage or colour.

5. Last but not least, the setting spray. Just like with primers, there is a ton of them on the market. My favourite one is Mac Fix+.

Lancome Teint Miracle foundation review

Today I be reviewing one of my favourite foundation of all times; Lancome Teint Miracle. I have been using this foundation for about 6 months now and I'm loving it. Here is what it claims to do:

"LancĂ´me invents its 1st foundation that helps to recreate the aura of perfect looking skin. Instantly complexion appears flawless and luminous, as if lit-from-within."

I have to say that I agree with the above 110%. For me this foundation is like a perfect skin in a lovely looking bottle. When I was buying this foundation the make up artist at the Lancome counter said that the coverage is medium, but I don't agree with it, its definitely almost full coverage, but without looking cakey or unnatural at all.

The almost full coverage can be achieved if used with a right type of brush, I tried to apply it with a standard foundation brush, duo fibre brush and flat top brush. I have to say that I achieved best results when I was using standard foundation brush. When applying with the duo fibre brush and a flat top brush I felt like I was applying the foundation, but then rubbing it of and just wasting it.

When it comes to the luminosity I can't say much about it because I always apply lots of mattifying powder on top of my foundation as I like my foundation matt.

Since I have a oily t-zone, most foundations just disappear of my t-zone throughout the day, but this stayed on flawless, flawless!! throughout the whole day and when I say whole day I mean 12-16 hours without touch ups.

Price: £25.55

Available from: All major department stores, large Boots stores and online.

I will rate this foundation 4.5 / 5 because of the price.

Burberry Beauty - Natural Nude Look

Burberry "Natural Nude Look" collection to me is what natural and beauty from with-in is about. The collection is very feminine with pastel pinks, beiges and browns. As you can see from the campaign pictures below the main look for this collection is the" no make up make up look" ; perfect glowing complexion, brown/beiges eyes and nude pink or light brown lips. To top it off the packaging is so chick and modern and would look lovely on a vanity.

If only..

...I was able to keep my closet so organised like on the photos below I would be one very happy fashionista, but I just can't, whenever I tidy up and sort out my closet it just becomes a total mess again the next morning when I'm getting dressed, tops get mixed up with blazers, watches with sunglasses and shoes with bags.  Looking at the pictures below I envy the people who keep their closets so perfectly organised :-) My personal favourite is the first picture which shows (probably 1/10 of)  Suzanne Rogers closet.
