OOTN - Christmas Eve Dinner

I don't usually do this kind of post, but I decided to do one today because its Christmas and I don't usually wear this kind of outfits. I decided to go for a simple and smart look with a twist. The twist is that I'm wearing grey skinny jeans instead of smart trouser. Also I decided to keep accessories and make up simple. The only accessory I'm wearing is my favourite watch of all times (pic below). On my face I'm wearing Kiko Medium Foundation, MeMeMe Flawless Loose Face Powder, Mac Wonder Woman Mineralize Skinfinish in Pink Power. On the lower eyelid I'm wearing Natural Collection Chocolate Eyeshadow, also I used MUA Matt Eyeshadow in Shade 19.

White Dress Shirt - H&M

Grey Skinny Jean - Topman

Bow Tie - Tiger

Watch - Accurist

Shoes - Primark

Merry Christmas :-)

Review: The Body Shop Skin Primer - Matte It

Today I want to share with you my honest opinion on The Body Shop Skin Primer. I bought this primer last year in October or November, can't remember now, the reason that I bought it was that I ran out of my MAC Prep+Prime primer and I was in The Body Shop to get few skincare products. Before that I never tried any of their make up product( and probably never will again) but as I was in a hurry I picked up this face primer for £10 (currently it retails for £11) which I thought was a really good price for a primer. So when I got home I decided to try some of it on the back of my hand and it was ok, it was very smooth and silky. So the next morning when I was getting ready I applied it before my foundation and then I started applying my foundation which was just a nightmare since the primer didn't set at all and my foundation was just sliding all over my face, however somehow I managed it to look ok by using a ridiculous amount of setting powder. After about 3-4 hours I looked in a mirror and my foundation and primer were long gone and I was left with a shiny and patchy looking face. As soon as I got home I washed my face and this time applied my foundation without using the primer and it looked perfect. So the next morning I thought I give it one more chance, so this time I applied it with a brush instead of my fingers and I let the primer set for about 5 mins. This time I didn't had any problems with applying my foundation, however as soon as I finished my make up and I touched my face to feel how smooth it is all of my make up just slipped of my face. Since then I didnt used this primer anymore and after few months of laying around in ended up in a bin. The only good thing about this primer is that it comes in a squeeze tube.

Overall I dont recomend this product at all, I think its totally crap and not worth even a penny, stay away from it.

Review: Lush Helping Hands

I think that everyone has struggled with dry hands at least once in their life, but I struggle with them every fall/winter season, and when I say dry, I mean so dry that the skin cracks and bleeds. However last December I was in Lush to pick up some toner and the lovely sale assistant noticed my dry red hands and recommended me this hand cream, so I decided to give it a go and I applied it as soon as I got on a train back home and I was in a shock, first thing that hit me was the lovely scent, its really hard to describe but its amazing. Second thing that just blowed me way was how moisturising and soothing just one pump of this cream was (back then it was sold in a pump bottle), so from the first use I knew that problem with dry hands is gone forever, or at least for as long Lush makes this hand cream.

About two months ago I picked up another pot of Helping Hands from Lush, but I only used it few time and then put it at the back of the draw and completely forgotten about it, but for past few weeks its freezing in London and as you can imagine my hands looked just awful. I have tried about a dozen of different hand creams and none of them helped, but as I was looking through my draw where I keep my not-so-often-probably-never-will-use-again skin care and make up products I noticed I have a full pot of this miracle product. As soon as I applied it, my hands were transformed from dry, red and flaky, to soft and luscious hands. I think that I will be using this hand cream for the rest of my life.

Another thing that makes this hand cream so different from others that I have tried are the ingredients, it dosent contain any, mineral oils, silicones or other nasty stuff that can irritate our skin. Helping Hands its make from about 96% natural ingredients (I will put the ingredients list below). Another thing I just love love about this hand cream is the fact you can use it on face, under eyes and as a lip balm and it will not break you out because it dosent contain any nasty ingredients.

Overall I think this is definitely one of the best hand creams ever and it will be my holy grail forever.

Another Mini Haul and general ramble.

It feels like ages since I have posted anything on here but I was busy with lots of things for past few weeks and also when I was about write a post on last Friday my MacBook decided to die on my, well it didn't actually die but it turned that the hard drive is damaged and it can die any time soon so that mean I have to splash out on a new one because my warrant finished last month. I actually managed to get it to work, however I have to keep all of my photos, music and all important stuff on an external hard drive because the hard drive in my MacBook can die at anytime. So enough of the tech geeky stuff, now onto the actual post.

Few days ago I popped into my local TK Maxx to have look what candles they have, however they didn't had any candles that I would like(I'm really picky when it comes to any form of scents, wherever parfums or candles) , so just before I left I decided to have a look at the beauty and make up bit which which wasn't that easy because the beauty bit always looks like it was hit by some kind of tornado with pretty much all boxes open, shower gels and shampoos leaking, smashed mirrors, broken eyeshadow palets, ok maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but you get the idea (well, actually the whole store always looks like it was hit by a tornado, I will post some pics of in the near future, but for now back to my post). So when I was about to leave I noticed this box with four red bottles (for some reason red always catches my eye which is strange because red is definitely not my favourite colour, dam I'm going off track again, arghh!) And oh boy, how shocked I was when I saw a price of this, it was marked down from whooping £160 to only £24.99, I thought that if something costs £160 has to be good and plus its a bargain. So I googled for it on my iPhone and I noticed that it had really good reviews. Ok, so the product that I'm rambling about is a set of four product from a brand called tri-pentox. The content of the magic box is: daily recharge serum, rehydrating night complex, collagen assist filler and age defying serum. If you want to check it out, click here. The main idea behind all of those four products is that they are anti ageing, but the reason why I bought is was because I needed something to help my skin be more hydrated, radiant and recover from all different anti acne product I have been using for past few years.  I only used this for about 4 days and I can see a huge difference, my skin is glowing, most of the redness is gone and pores appear much smaller and also the small lines around my eyes have disappeared. Right now my favourite product is probably the eye serum because it makes dark circles almost disappear, but also provides perfect base for concealer if I'm using one. I will do a full detailed review of the whole set in about 4-5 weeks times.

I also picked up two more products from Boots and Superdrug. First is the 17 BB Cream, I wanted to try a BB cream for a long time now, but I didn't like the idea of ordering one online, also lots of the BB creams that you can get online have skin whitening properties, which kind of freak me out, so I was really happy to see that 17 has a BB cream in their range. I know that Garnier is also offering now, but the lightest shade looks really orange on me, So I decided to give the 17 BB cream a go since the shade "Light" is a prefect colour match for me. I have been using it for about 4 days now and I'm in love with it, its so light and dosent look like make up at all, one small disadvantage is the fact that is dosent offer much coverage, I say its light to medium, but buildable.

One last thing that I got from Superdrug was the Me Me Me Loose Powder in shade Translucent. At first I thought that it was just like any other loose powder, but oh boy I was wrong. What makes this powder so different from other lose powders that I used is the fact that its not white or beige, but its has some yellow undertone to its, which counteracts redness beautifully.

-Tri-Pentox skincare set - £24.99 TK Maxx
-17 BB Cream - £ 6.99 Boots
-Me Me Me Flawless Loose Powder - £ 5.99 Superdrug

P.S  This is what I have been using for about three days when my MacBook die, an old iBook G4, I wonder if anyone still remembers them. One this I always love about Apple products is that no matter how old they are, they always work just as fine when they were released. It dosent belong to me, but my cousin was so kind to borrow it to me till my MacBook starts working again so I dont have use an Windows based laptop (eek!).

XoXo :-)
